Ilanot loves Shabbat at Camp

This Shabbat, Ilanot’s theme was Ma Tovu (how good), which is from this week’s parasha, Balak. As we prepared for Shabbat in a circle before heading to the hursha/grove for Kabbalat Shabbat, we talked about the importance of recognizing the good in ourselves, in each other, and in our edah and our camp. We heard a wonderful Dvar Torah from Rabbi Israel about soaking up goodness from all of our experiences. At our peulat Shabbat/ Shabbat activity we completed a parasha themed obstacle course (rode on broomstick donkeys, avoided Angels between benches, to name a couple of the obstacles) and sang Ma Tovu. Havdallah was truly beautiful with the whole camp together. We sang American songs to celebrate the 4th of July and went to bed happy and excited for a new week. Shavua tov!
