Peulat Shabbat: Solelim does some bonding

This past Shabbat was Shabbat Nachamu, which means that Bnei Yisrael were comforted by G-d after the mourning of Tisha B'av. We, in Solelim, decided to take this idea of comfort to a whole new level. The parsha, V'etchanan, also included the Ten Commandments so we started off with a discussion of which of the commandments we feel the most comfortable with and which we don't and then broke into groups and each group did a skit with two of the commandments. The skits were funny, but also showed that the kids had internalized the message of each commandment. Then, for the second part of the Peulat Shabbat, we paired off all of the Solelimers and they each bonded with each other by asking each other a list of questions we had prepared. This was all so that they became 'comfortable' with each other. Nachamu, and the idea of comforting, is also one of sympathizing with another and listening. It was an excellent peula planned by our own madrichim Ilan and Emily.
