Souls in Solelim Flying High to Eretz Yisrael
On Tuesday, Solelim had an entire day of incredible programming, centering around the theme of immigration to Israel. The day was called “Yom Choose Your Own Adventure,” and the chanichim (campers) did in fact create their own experience by choosing their path. We started the morning with an adventurous trip to Rondeau’s, where everyone was treated to some delicious, homemade ice cream.
We continued with creating an identity mad lib, experiencing boat life (playing drip drip drop), and working on settling in and starting a career (playing evolution tag with money and extra fun prizes). We enjoyed a nice picnic lunch, and had some nice leisure time to relax and rest up for the afternoon. Later, we chose different careers for ourselves. Some chose to be commanders, others chose to be team leaders, some chose to be doctors, while still others chose to be architects.
We finished off the day with our final arrival in Eretz Yisrael, singing Hatikvah (Israel’s National Anthem), wearing party hats, and dancing to Israeli music.
Chamichim (campers) and madrichim (counselors) alike had a glorious day full of excitement, team-building, and edah unity. We are so proud of everyone’s involvement and energy, and can’t wait for more fun days at Machane (camp) Ramah!
