South Area Solomon Schechter 7th Grade Team Building Retreat

Last week the seventh grade class of the South Area Solomon Schechter Day School came to Ramah New England for a two day team building retreat.  The goal of the retreat was to help foster a strong class community and provide students with the opportunity to form new and stronger friendships with their classmates.   Students partook in a number of teambuilding initiatives, which focused on group communication and leadership.  Students also participated in several conversations about community values, and how they relate to their class and school year.   Additionally, students had the opportunity to enjoy an evening of sports, shira (singing) and s’mores.  The retreat concluded by having the entire class sign a class “declaration of values” that encompassed a list of ideals meant to ensure a strong and vibrant class community.
