Kochavim Update, August 14th

As the week and summer come to a close Kochavim is remebering all the fun things that we did this week! The kids have been enjoying all of the regular programming of camp in Shira(singing), Rikud (dancing), and Sport. They've also been placed in various Chuggim (elective activities) such as Boating, Omanut (arts and crafts) and Photography. This week is packed with lots of special festivities that all the campers are enjoying. The Zimkudiah, our annual song and dance festival, took place last night and Kochavim shined like that stars they are during our dance which was preformed in front of the whole camp. The campers participated in Machon's Tzedaka Awareness fair, learning about various issues around the world and gaining understanding in what each individual can do to take part in Tikun Olan, healing the world.This evening there is the final banquet with a carnival before hand and tons of camp Ruach and traditions to follow during the meal. On friday we will not only welcome in Shabbat but the kids will have a surprise while packing-- an ice cream truck!! I will be handing out ice cream to all campers on tzad aleph and am looking forward to the glee of each camper as they get to choose their ice cream! the last Shabbat is always emotional as we are all sad that camp has come to an end. We take in the Ruach of camp that is extra strong on Shabbat and savour the last few moments we have with all the special, new friends we're surrounded by.
