adat ha-Kochavim: Kabbalat Shabbat

A beautiful moment at our machaneh (camp) is immediately before Kabbalat Shabbat, when our entire kehillah (community) is ready and eagerly anticipating the onset of Shabbat.  Chanichim (campers) and Tzevet (staff) alike go to significant lengths to clean and spruce up the tzrifim (bunks) and themselves, as a special way to welcome Shabbat.  This sparkling cleanliness and finery is an integral part of our preparation for Shabbat, and the results distinguish Shabbat apart from the rest of the week.  These chanichim (above) from adat ha-Kochavim, pictured on this past Friday afternoon, illustrate this state of readiness to welcome Shabbat.   Shabbat Shalom!
