Alternative Tefilot

Tzad Bet chanichim (campers) were treated today to some of the most innovative, creative, and inspiring modes of prayer.   They were encouraged to try something new and different, and they did so with energy and spirit.  Our madrichim (counselors) and Tzevet Limud (education staff) did a stellar job in leading these tefillot, and spoke personally to the chanichim from their own experiences.

For example, the “Yeshiva boys live” was described like this: dance, sing, and lipdub your heart our and show your love of God through great music and great davenning.  It was led by Natan Fandel and Sarah Berman.

Noah Glickman and Matan Rosenfeld led “Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhacharit part 2: breathing, beauty and brachot”.  This was a kavanah-filled kehilah.

Rabbi Gordon Tucker led: “What’s God got tune do with it? niggunim and nachas”.  Sing your heart out at this spiritual, yai nai nai-filled tefilah! Go past the words on the page and praise God using music and melodies.

Sophie Lavine led “Modeh ani lefanecha melech chai vekayam shehechezarta bi nishmati b’chemla raba OMANUTecha”.  It was described as follows: Thank God using arts and crafts! Express your blessings through paper, markers, scissors and glue.  Pictured top, and below.
