Yesterday the members of the Tikvah program had a chance to go on a "yom trip" to West Hartford, CT. Right after breakfast we boarded the buses and rode to the JCC Swim and Tennis club. We splashed around at the pool and had lunch together in the pavilion. We got back on the bus and headed to the Hebrew Home where we got to meet the residents and put on a little tekes or show for them. Amitzim and Voc-Ed presented our Shabbat songs and dances and passed out instruments for the residents to join in. Here is a group shot of the Amitzimers sharing the Ramah spirit with the residents!  DSC01783
After the tekes we had a chance to "shmooze" and chat with the members of the home. The counselors and campers walked around together asking questions to the residents while they inquired about our time at camp. When the program was over we headed to Jonathan's dream, a boundless playground in West Hartford that is accessible for all of our campers. We got to play around and relax for a while. Here is a great shot of some Tikvah participants enjoying the day: DSC01798 We ended the day with ice cream sundaes and lots of smiles. It was a great time had by all!
