Kochavim: Tefilla

Because yesterday was Thursday (a day in which the Torah is usually read), Tzevet Kochavim (Kochavim staff) decided to do a little teaching about the Torah.  We taught the blessings before and after the Torah.  We also took out the Torah and opened to this week’s parsha— Pinchas.  Marcia Glickman, the Rosh Edah,  is pictured showing the chanichim (campers) exaxtly where the parsha is written in the scroll.  Each chanich had the opportunity to come up and use a Tallit to kiss the Torah.  We sang Eytz Chaim He, and returned the Torah to the ark.  What a wonderful way to start the day!
