This summer Machon campers participated in several different in-camp service projects.  One of the service project groups worked with our Development staff to explore philanthropy at camp.  As part of their project, these campers wrote thank you letters to people who contributed to the camp scholarship fund.  In these letters campers expressed the various ways in which Camp Ramah in New England has impacted their lives.

One camper expressed, “Camp is a 2nd home to me because of my friends, Shabbat, Berkshires, and my counselors.”

Another wrote, “Shabbat at camp has a very special atmosphere. I have a special connection to the Shabbat services and all of the singing after meals.”

Additionally, another group of campers worked to build a new Shabbat Gate (seen on the right), meant to enhance and celebrate the beauty of Shabbat at camp.
