Machon Etgar (challenge)!

Machon departed for their Etgar (challenge/camping trip) today. They arose at 6 AM to prepare their own equipment, and have chosen options including biking, caving, spelunking, rock climbing, kayaking and wilderness tracking skills to focus on.  The etgar program fosters skills in the particular area, and the participants gain independence and confidence during the program.  There is also a strong emphasis on team-building and giving peer support.  Our chanichim will camp out in Western Mass,  and hike on Friday.  We will welcome them back to the machane (camp) with open arms, in plenty of time for Shabbat.  Above are the eager chanichot (campers) about to board the bus.  Below is the kayaking group, about to embark on their challenge and adventure!
