Machon Takes Boston, Day Two

On the second day of our trip, we woke up at the synagogue, KI, and joined them for morning minyan. We explained to the campers that the community at times has trouble getting a minyan, and that they would be performing a mitzvah by participating. Machon made all of us proud as they filled the chapel with their presence and their song, and we all felt energized to start our day.

After a breakfast of cereal and leftover pizza, we headed out for a tour of Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. We had a fantastic time learning about the history of the park and the team, seeing the press box, the various seating sections, and of course, the Green Monster.

From there, we went to the State House and Boston Commons where we split into groups and explored the area. Many campers were most excited about Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts, but all enjoyed walking around in the beautiful late morning air. It was a fun, relaxing way to bring our trip to a close.

After making it through a terrible rainstorm, we made it back in time for pizza (again!) lunch. Campers entered Shabbat excited and satisfied from the trip, having shared a fun, relaxing couple of days outside of camp with their camp family.
