Shana Bloom Shalom
Machaneh Ramah!  My name is Shana Bloom, and I am very excited to be Rosh Bogrim for kayitz 2010!
After graduating NYU in 2008 with a BA in Jewish
History, I went to work for the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House advocating for New York's underserviced
and underrepresented populations.  Working as an advocate after college,
and organizing Jewish community at NYU's Hillel during college, have both
fueled my passion for building Jewish community and creating meaningful
connections with those I come in contact with. My experiences as a camp
veteran, both from spending many summers as a camper, coupled with my time
working as staff in camps with diverse camper populations, have helped  me
to ask meaningful questions about my Jewish identity and in turn have
contributed to,and continue to contribute to, my own self discovery.  Though
new to the Camp Ramah team, I look forward to drawing on
these past experiences to create a fun filled, meaningful Jewish experience at
camp this summer.
