Yesterday, Nivonim started a masa/journey to New York. It is very exciting to get out of Camp and come to the Big Apple, even if only for a few days!
Last night, our first stop was at Maya’s house on Long Island. Earlier in the day, I had completed learning the Mishnayot from the masechet/tractate of Moed Katan which deals with the laws of hol ha’moed/intermediate festival days. In celebration of my completion of study we had a siyum bbq. Everyone had a blast!
After the siyum, we drove over to Shaarei Zedek in Manhattan and settled in for the night. In one of the nicest displays of edah unity, before the hanichim/campers went to bed, they all said laila tov/good night to each other. Literally 15 minutes later, every hanich(a) had been wished laila tov. And that’s exactly what is was, a laila tov.
