Nivonim: New York Trip Day 2 Part II


In the afternoon, we traveled to the World Trade Center Tribute Center.  We went on a self-guided audio tour of Ground Zero.  It was a very somber afternoon as we all remembered the lives that were lost on that horrible day almost ten years ago. 


Members of our edah stood and observed the historic site while listening to stories of people who were at the Towers or those who had family members there on September 11, 2001. 


After the tour, we walked to Battery Park and split into groups to debrief the tour.  While we all acknowledged degrees of sadness, we also noted how nice it was that you could see people around the site walking around and working as though it was a normal place of business.  Regular life has continued.  And on that note, we were also ready to move on to the next part of our day…
