Remembering Eyal, Gilad, and Naftali

Shalom Chaverim,

We are deeply saddened by the news from Israel about the killings of Eyal Yifrach z”l, Gilad Shaar z”l and Naftali Fraenkel z”l.

Here in camp, we held a ceremony at our memorial to fallen Israeli soldiers.  Thoughts, prayers and song were shared.  Our mishlachat helped to plan and run the ceremony and campers and staff had the option to attend.

It was a very meaningful moment attended by about 150 campers and staff.

Although the news is widespread, we are not addressing the issue directly in our younger edot.  We do have our team of Yoetzot and rabbis on hand to help our campers and staff process what happened.

May the Yifrach, Shaar, and Fraenkel families be comforted among all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
