The lights went on, the amps were turned up, and the camp went wild as Rick Recht and his band rocked the Beit Am Bet tonight! It was a night of inspiring Jewish rock, singing, dancing, and lots of fun! The excitement was palpable as we ended aruchat erev and walked to the Beit Am in anticipation of a great show and Rick and his band did not disappoint their audience! From the very first song to the encore, campers and staff were up on their feet, dancing and singing to songs about hope for peace in Israel, tikkun olam, Jewish environmental responsibility and Jewish solidarity. Rick and his band entertained camp with original tunes as well as several covers, including, Sholomo Carlebach's "Ki Va Moed," David Broza's "Mitachat HaShamayim" and even Green Day's "Time of Your Life" and Smash Mouth's "All Star." It was a great night for Camp Ramah!
Toda rabah to Rick, his family and his band for the amazing ruach they brought to our camp!
