Shoafim Tefilla

The chanichim (campers) of adat ha-Shoafim had a lovely Tefilla, on their mirpeset (porch) overlooking the idyllic agam (lake).  Rabbi Marc Israel of our Tzevet Havalim (ropes staff) gave a heartfelt d’var Tefilla, focusing on the meditative aspect of prayer.  He had the chanichim read this line from the Shacharit morning service:

and then pointed out how 6 of the words begin with the sound “UM”.  This sound is very similar or identical to the chanting sound of other faith traditions.  The Tefilla concluded with a magnificent blowing of the shofar by Andy Weissfeld, world renowned for his record-breaking Tekiah Gedola!
