This past Wednesday Solelim had a Yom Meyuchad (special day) and our theme was Disney. We started off our day with a "Princess and the Frog" activity and talked about how they make 'gumbo' in the Southern USA and in different countries they make different kinds of breads. Then we decided to make our our pita/laffa over the fire. It was very sticky and fun!  Our second peula (activity) for the day was titled "Aladdin" and one of our madrichot (counselors), Judy, designed an obstacle course exactly identicle to the one that Aladdin runs through in the marketplace in the movie, which included swinging on a rope, dressing up in baggy clothes, and the kids also designed their own magic carpets to ride around on.  Our last peula for the morning was a "Finding Nemo" hunt for all the madrichim who were doing different 'jobs' around camp, such as being a nurse in the Marpeah, or a guard at the entrance to camp, etc. and I was Nemo – so they got extra points for that! Enjoy some of the pictures…Shabbat Shalom!
