Tikvah Trip to Hartford Yard Goats

The Tikvah program participants had a great Yom Trip this week to the Hartford Yard Goats. The highlight was one of our Voc Ed’ers, Helena Schreibman, throwing out the first pitch (see photo, below left).  The game took place in this beautiful new stadium (http://www.milb.com/index.jsp?sid=t538).  The Goats played the Trenton Tornadoes, with Tikvah rooting for the Goats.  The participants traveled by school bus and sang highlights from Tikvah t’filah, and Happy Birthday to Marc Israel’s mom on the way there!  The snacks included a classic ice cream sundae  in a plastic baseball helmet.  During halftime, they sang at the 7th inning stretch!  Av Harris joined the group, as did Ben Fiedler. This has become an annual event.  Last year they went to the New Britain Bees and the year before the Pawtucket Red Socks.  Who knows where they will be next year?!?

Postscript: The Yard goats won, score was 5-4.
