Yom “Game of Machons”

Clash of the families! Yesterday Machon took to the fields (and a few indoor spaces) to battle it out for the rights to claim all of Machaneh Ramah. The chanichim (campers) were first divided into families according to the popular TV show “Game of Thrones,” in which they came up with a family crest, motto, set of values, and history. After an edah-wide presentation of their crests, mottos, etc., the families headed into the Beit Am Gadol for some pillow polo jousting, discus (frisbee) throwing, and some good ol’ fashioned archery. We then took a break for lunch, free time, and pe’ulot tzrif (bunk activities) before regrouping for an amazing “capture the flag”-like final challenge. We finished off the day with some low-key Bar Mitzvah games. The day was an awesome combination of bonding, community building, and fun, and everyone was all smiles by the end!
