B’nai Mitzvah Projects

B’nai Mitzvah Projects

Mazal tov on your upcoming b’nai mitzvah!

In preparation for a camper becoming a b’nai mitzvah, many 12 and 13-year olds select a mitzvah project as a meaningful way to mark this very special milestone and to engage in the mitvzot of tzedekah and tikkun olam.

In the past, our Camp Ramah b’nai mitzvah have supported camp in a variety of ways. For example, one camper designated the Ramah Scholarship Fund for his mitzvah project and asked friends and family to make a donation in honor of his becoming a Bar Mitzvah.

Another camper selected the Tikvah program as her mitzvah project.  She participated in the Boston-area Tour de Shuls Bike Ride and asked her friends and family to sponsor her. The funds that she raised went to the Tikvah Fund, to provide programs for our campers with disabilities.

And now, you can create your very own personal mitzvah project to help camp, using MyMitzvahProject. This is a brand new web tool through the online fundraising platform, FirstGiving, that makes it easy to create a personal Mitzvah Project page. Once you get started, it’s so easy to reach out to your family and friends to support Ramah in honor of your simcha.

Creating a personal fundraising website is fun and easy! Just click on MyMitzvahProject, and follow the instructions.  Click here for MyMitzvahProject Step-by-step instructions.

A few things you can do once logged in to MyMitzvahProject:

  • Pick a fun name for your fundraising website
  • Upload a photo
  • Share your Ramah story and why it is so important to you to raise money for camp
  • Invite your friends and family to participate by email and through social networks

Any gift to camp in honor of your Bar or Bat Mitzvah is greatly appreciated.
