Incentive Grant Summary

The Foundation for Jewish Camp is offering a limited number of “One Happy Camper” incentive grants for first-time campers.  Generally these grants are $1000 off of tuition for any new camper who is attending a 4-or-8-week program who does NOT attend a Jewish Day School, but the rules are different in each area.  (For example, some areas will also give money to new two-week campers.)  We encourage all new camper families to contact their local Federation to see if they are eligible.

To the best of our knowledge, these grants are available in the following communities:

  • Hartford, CT
  • Boston, MA (including the North Shore)
  • Syracuse and central NY
  • Rhode Island
  • Washington, DC (VERY LIMITED numbers)

Click here for a complete list of participating communities and to review the eligibility requirements.  If you live in one of these communities and meet the eligibility criteria, visit www.onehappycamper.org to register for this incentive grant.

The PJ Library program is offering a limited number of $1000 incentive grants for first-time campers who DO attend a Jewish Day School. These grants will be awarded by lottery. Click here for more information, specifically the “how to apply” section. Note the November 8th deadline for applying.

The Harold Grinspoon Foundation offers grants to residents of Western MA and Southern VT up to $1500 for first-time campers and $1000 for returning campers. Campers can be enrolled in a 2, 4, or 8-week program. For more information, click here.

Please note: Campers may not double-dip the above grants. A camper is only eligible for ONE of these grants.

For any first-time Ramah campers attending a 4-8 week program (who have never before participated in a 4-8 week program at a Jewish overnight camp) who are not eligible for any of the above incentive grants (because they do not live in a participating region, or because they attend a Jewish Day School), Camp Ramah in New England can offer a $500 discount on tuition, while supplies last.  This is supported by our own funders.  After registering for camp, please e-mail our Finance Associate Ken Milgram at KMilgram@campramahne.org to be sure you are on the list for this discount.  This discount is not offered to the children of Ramah staff-members.

Camp Ramah has additional first-time incentive grants available for new campers who are members of certain partner Conservative Movement shuls in our region. Please contact Josh Edelglass at joshe@campramahne.org for more information.

We work very hard to make the Ramah experience available to all campers, regardless of financial need. Camp Ramah in New England offers additional scholarships, above and beyond the above-listed incentive grants. If your family needs additional financial support, please don’t hesitate to contact our Finance Associate Ken Milgram at KMilgram@campramahne.org or at 781-702-5290 x107 to request a financial aid application.

Please contact Ken or Josh Edelglass, Assistant Director (joshe@campramahne.org) with any questions.
