Machon Canoe Trip!

Last week, interested Machon campers were able to sign up to participate in a special program: a three day, two-night canoe trip, run by a great group of trip-leaders from Adventure In Adventure Out!
Twelve Machoners, accompanied by two of our madrichim (counselors) and the AIAO trip leaders, go to experience a fun and challenging canoe trip in the beautiful Tully Lake area! The kids got to canoe, camp out, make their own meals — it was a fantastic adventure out in nature!
Before the trip set out, the AIAO staff worked with our campers to teach camping and canoeing techniques and help them develop new skills they were able to use on their canoeing adventure. The group packed their own sleeping bags, tents, gear, and food for their three days on the trail. They learned to build fires, cook dinner over camping stoves, and set up & take down their tents and campsite!
The kids were able to forge a wonderful kehillah (community) together over the course of their three-day experience together, and the experience of being out in nature was special and unique.
We have had a relationship with AIAO for many years; they run an array of fantastic outdoor adventure programs. We introduced this optional Machon canoe trip program last year and were excited to continue it this year.
