Announcing our 2025 Hanhallah!

We’re excited to announce our 2025 hanhallah (leadership team)!
Kochavim (current 2nd & 3rd graders) — Hey Kochavim! My name is Emma Gelb, and I am soooo excited to be your Rosh Kochavim this kayitz (summer)! This is going to be my twentieth year at camp, and I can’t wait to spend it with you! Kochavim is the best edah in all of camp, which is probably why this will be my tenth year working in it! We’re going to have so much fun together, from singing and dancing to chugim (electives) and more; it’s going to be the best kayitz ever! Camp is truly the best place in the world, which is why I am so grateful to work at camp on our year round team — it’s the best! When I’m not working, I love photography, working with foster kids, all things Taylor Swift, reading, and anything crafty.
Ilanot (current 4th graders) — Hey Ilanot! My name is Ayden Kligfeld and I am super excited to be your Rosh Edah this kayitz!! I spent seven summers as a chanicha (camper) at Ramah in California and two as a madricha (counselor) at Ramah New England. Last summer, I had the opportunity to work at a camp called Flying Horse Farms for kids with serious illnesses. I learned so much there, but I’m so excited to return to the Palmer community this kayitz. During the year, I study Psychology and Education at Brandeis University and have been studying in Sydney, Australia since January. In my free time, I love to cook new recipes, read books outside (especially on Shabbat at camp!), and spend time with my friends. I cannot wait to create the most incredible kayitz together! L’hitraot b’Palmer! (See you soon, in Palmer!)
Solelim (current 5th graders) — Hi Solelim! My name is Sophia Jacobson (she/her), and I am so excited to be your Rosh Edah for this kayitz (summer)! This will be my second summer as Rosh Solelim and my twelfth kayitz at camp! I am currently a Junior at Muhlenberg College, double majoring in Public Health and Business Management. Some of my favorite camp activities include playing basketball, hanging out with friends, and swimming in the agam (lake). This kayitz is going to be the best one ever, and I can’t wait to meet you all so soon! L’hitraot b’Palmer! (See you soon, in Palmer!)
Shoafim (current 6th graders) — Hi, I’m Yoav Magen, a 25 year old actor from Petah-Tikvah, Israel. I served as a Krav-Maga instructor when in the IDF, and I was a madrich (counselor) at camp back in 2021 and 2024. I’m an easy-going person with lots of patience and attention to detail. Nowadays I’m still busy promoting my fantasy book which I published last year, and I regularly audition for just about every Israeli TV show and commercial. Also! I’m probably (100%) the biggest The Lord of the Rings fan you’ve ever met. I can’t wait to have the best kayitz ever with adat Ha-Shoafim!
Amitzim (program for campers with disabilities) — My name is Kaylee Fellner (any pronouns!), and I am honored to be Rosh Amitzim for kayitz 2025! This is my first time being on Hanhallah, my fourth summer on Tikvah staff, and my ninth summer overall at camp! I am excited to be in the Chorsah (Grove) for Shabbat, the Tikvah Block Party, and for Tikvah Tefilot! During the year, I attend Goucher College in Towson, Maryland, and I am working towards my dual degree in Special and Elementary Education with a minor in Studio Art! I have interned at schools where I have supported students as a 1-on-1 and hosted a weekly call with our lovely Tikvah participants every Thursday! Camp Ramah has been my home for so long, and I am absolutely thrilled to keep passing my love for camp to my campers, participants, staff, and the camp community at large! See you all soon, at camp!
Magshimim (current 7th graders) — Hey hey Magshimim!! My name is Jonah Werbel (he/him), and I cannot wait to be your Rosh Edah this kayitz (summer)!!! This will be my fourteenth kayitz at Palmer (my fifth as a tzevet member), and I am so excited to spend it with you all!! I am currently a Fourth-Year at the University of Virginia graduating in May with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Data Science. At camp, I especially love swimming in the agam (I competed in and coached Roo Swim for seven years), climbing the Alpine Tower (I worked on Ropes chug for three years), medurot (campfires), and basically anything outside! Tzad Bet is going to be awesome (You’ll get Yom Roo, and Kishroniyah, and that’s only scratching the surface) and this kayitz is about to be like no other – get hype!! I can’t wait to meet you all soon, I’m already counting down the days!!
Bogrim (current 8th graders) — Hi everyone! My name is Kayla Traiger (she/her), and I am super excited to be Rosh Bogrim this kayitz (summer)! This will be my eighteenth summer at camp and my third time in Bogrim (Bogrim ‘17, tzevet Bogrim ‘22)! I will be graduating from Northeastern University with a nursing degree this May and will be working as a nurse in Boston after camp. In my free time, I love hanging out with friends, playing tennis, and baking. My favorite part of camp is feeling all of the ruach (spirit) in the air, the singing at medurot (campfires), and Tisch on Friday night. I am so excited to meet you all and have a fantastic kayitz! L’hitraot b’Palmer! (See you soon, in Palmer!)
Machon (current 9th graders) — Hi! I’m Matan Elul and I am so excited to be Rosh Machon this kayitz! I’m 24 years old and I’m from Israel. I really like to travel (especially in Israel!). You definately could find me in Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer games (I’m hugggge fan), and I’ve just come back from a longgg trip around the world. It’s gonna be my second year in a row in the best edah at camp: adat ha-Machon! I can’t wait to see you all soon!
Nivonim (current 10th graders) — Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Monderer (she/her), but I go by Smond at camp! I am so excited to be Rosh Nivonim this kayitz! This will be my seventeenth kayitz at camp! I was a chanicha (camper) 2008-2014, on Ramah Seminar in 2015, a madricha (counselor) 2016-2018, and on tzevet tochnit (programming staff) 2019-2023. I currently live in Charleston, South Carolina and most recently worked resettling refugees to the U.S. I love playing ultimate frisbee, the New York Times Spelling Bee, and collecting tomato-themed items. I cannot wait to create the most amazing experiences with Nivonim 2025, and I’m counting down the days until we’re together in Palmer!
