Basketball Coach: Ruben DelRosario

Ruben Delrosario (photo above) is the Assistant Basketball Coach at The Macduffie School, a prep school in Granby, Massachusetts. Ruben played collegiate basketball at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts where he led his team in both steals and assists and was a three-year team captain. After graduation, Ruben played basketball professionally overseas in both the Dominican Republic and European Summer League. Most recently, Ruben was a Head Coach of the Five Star Sports Basketball Company in China and coached at the Nike Rise Academy in Hong Kong.

Founded in 1966, Five-Star was the brainchild of two New York City basketball junkies, Howard Garfinkel and Will Klein, who shared a singular passion and purpose: Creating a top-notch teaching camp to help kids improve their games.  For more information, see:

This kayitz (summer), we are again offering high-level sports instruction as part of our daily camp program. These programs provide incredible opportunities for athletes to build advanced skills and technique, as well as learn fundamentals of sports they don’t necessarily play at home. Our tzevet (staff) of talented coaches brings both extensive playing and coaching experiences to our sports program. We are having a great kayitz of high intensity skill development in Palmer.   Ruben himself has been having a great time so far, with developing basketball skills and fundamentals with our hanichim (campers) at Camp Ramah! He especially notes our hanichim’s good sportsmanship and teamwork.   Ruben has even learned some Hebrew, notably: לֹא and כַּדּוּר.
