DC and Boston Day Camps Visit Palmer!

We were delighted this week to have visitors from both of our day camps!
For the first time ever, a group of rising second and third grade chanichim (campers) from our Ramah DC Day Camp flew up to our overnight camp for Ta’am Ramah (A Taste of Ramah), for a three-day, two-night trip. They kicked off their first night at camp with a Palmer style medura (campfire), complete with songs, stories, and s’mores! The chanichim got to experience a variety of camp activities. Some highlights were the swing on the ropes course, making pita in outdoor cooking, and various projects in Omanut (Arts & Crafts).
Tzevet (staff) accompanying the chanichim shared that it was amazing to see their independence blossom over the three days. They described watching the kids walk into the Chadar Ochel (Dining Hall) full of overnight campers on the first day, timid and wide eyed. By the end of their stay, they were confidently and independently navigating their way around camp.
Meanwhile, our Ramah Boston Day Camp continued our tradition and brought a group of chanichim this week for an overnight program, filled with fun at camp and a happy night of singing, story telling, and s’mores.
Before we said l’hitraot (goodbye), we were sure to snap a photo of all the chanichim and tzevet from both day camps, with our overnight camp Co-Directors Michelle Sugarman and Josh Edelglass. It was so special to see the next generation of Palmer chanichim together!
