Fun Peulot Edah From Across Camp!

We’ve had a fantastic first week of Machzor Sheinei (Second Session)!  Across camp, all the different edot have been doing lots of special peulot edah (division activities) to help welcome all of our new chanichim/ot (campers) to camp, and to bond together all of the new additions to our kehillah (community)!  Here’s just a small sampling:

Kochavim (rising 3rd & 4th graders): We had a great time going through different stations; at each station, the chanichim/ot (campers) worked together to earn puzzle pieces which came together in the end to spell out Kochavim 2026!

Ilanot (rising 5th graders): We did “human bingo” designed to help the chanichim/ot (campers) get to know each other better.  They all had to go around and talk to each other and find people who could match the items on their bingo board, things like: someone who has a pet, someone whose name starts with the same letter, etc.  The campers were all really into it and had great time!

Solelim (rising 6th graders): One of our early peulot edah together this session was a big game of “Meet Your Madrichim (Counselors)”, where all the chanichim/ot matched fun facts to each madrich/a.

Shoafim (rising 7th graders): We did a photo scavenger hunt, in which the chanichim/ot went around and took silly photos of different mekomot (locations) around camp!  This was a great way for all our new chanichim/ot to learn their way around camp!

Amitzim: We did a fun and meaningful peulat edah last week, where we learned the meaning behind Tisha B’Av and made our own temples out of various supplies like cardboard, tape, and string.

Magshimim (rising 8th graders): We ran a really great peulat edah called “Spingo!” a combination of speed dating a and human bingo where the chanichim got to know their edah-mates in a fun and ice breaker-y way, learning all sorts of fun new facts about one another!

Bogrim (rising 9th graders): One of our best peulot edah this first week was a special program in which each tzrif (bunk) created and performed a dance for the whole edah.  We were so impressed by the creativity of all of our chanichim/ot, and the wonderful tzrif unity as each tzrif performed together!

Machon (rising 10th graders): Last week, Machon did a T-Rex relay race! The tzrifim (bunks) competed in a number of challenges, all while using “T-Rex” arms with bonus points for dinosaur roaring.  It was so fun and silly, and a great way for the chanichim/ot (campers) to get to know their tzrif-mates.

Nivonim (rising 11th graders): On our first night at Niagara Falls, we had a peulah edah in which our chanichim/ot made sock puppets which became their safteys for their game of Nivonim “assassins”, a long-standing Nivonim tradition that our Nivonimers were so excited to begin!
