Hodesh Tov! Honoring: Ari White-Pincus and Nava Feldman

Hodesh Tov (Happy New Month)! The chanichim (campers) of Solelim and Shoafim ushered in the new month of Av with a lovely tefilla on the mirpeset (porch) overlooking the agam (lake).  It was a great setting for this joint Rosh Hodesh tefilla, complete with Hallel and Torah reading.  There was even an impromptu group drumming session accompanying Hallel led by Tzevet Shira (song staff) member Oren Kaunfer.

The Torah was read, with the requisite four Aliyot for the Rosh Hodesh reading.

And the icing on top was a surprise recognition of 2 Shoafim chanichim, Ari White-Pincus and Nava Feldman.  Each chose to establish a charitable fund as part of their Bar and Bat Mitzva celebrations, for the benefit of the Tikvah Program here at Ramah Palmer.  Seen below is Mindy Goldstein, Director of Annual Campaign and Alumni Relations, presenting the framed certificate, Ramah sweatshirt, and Ramah bag to Ari and Nava.  Mazel Tov!

Nava, pictured below, wrote  in her explanatory blurb: “I love Camp Ramah New England and I really like that Camp Ramah has such a great Tikvah program for people with special needs.  It’s terrific that people with different challenges can enjoy camp like I do.  I have joined them at tefilah and during camp bonfires and they are always so much fun to be with. I want to use my bat mitzvah to help support this program and so I’m asking that donations be sent to Camp Ramah New England to support the Tikvah program.  Many thanks for your support!”

Ari, pictured below, wrote in his explanatory blurb: “I have been a camper at Camp Ramah for 6 years, and I look forward to returning for many more. I have been inspired by the many people who work in the Tikvah Program – the camp program for people with special needs. The Tikvah program has taught me that everyone is equal and deserves an amazing camp experience. I want to raise money to support this program.  Many thanks for your support — and don’t forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!”

Below right, Ari’s mom, Yvonne White, is also pictured.  She is on the Tikvah Tzevet (staff) as a Staff Support Specialist.  Mazel Tov and Yasher Koach to Ari and Nava, and their entire families!
