Jake Chapell Classic: Camper vs. Staff Baseball Game!
Last Friday, our machane (camp) hosted the 14th Annual Jake Shapell Classic – a camp-wide camper versus staff baseball game, played in memory of Jake, a Tikvah chanich (camper), worker in our Voc Ed program, and a participant on the very first Tikvah Israel Trip. We shared Jake’s story with our Tikvah audience and the crowd that gathered. Then Tikvah participants and Tzevet (staff) led us in the Star-Spangled Banner and Hatikvah, as well as threw out the ceremonial first pitch! We were SO proud of our group! After the ceremony, campers and staff played ball!
