Putting the Campfire Back Into Camp!

As has become our tradition, on the first Thursday night of the machzor (session), each edah had a medurah (campfire)!

Our madrichim (counselors) in each edah created fun programs filled with singing and s’mores and more!

Our Rashei Edot (Division Heads) shared these updates:

At Kochavim‘s medurah, we learned our edah song, sang some classic tunes including a super silly rendition of “Down By the Bay”, and of course enjoyed some delicious s’mores!

At Ilanot’s medurah, we learned our edah song (to the tune of “Happy”) and sang other classic campfire songs like “Riptide” and “Count on Me”.  (Scroll down to the bottom to see a short clip!)  We made and enjoyed delicious s’mores!  Here’s a short video clip:

In Solelim, we started the medurah by learning our edah song, which is to the tune of “What makes you beautiful”.  Then we sang some classic medurah songs such as Country Roads, Sweet Caroline, and more.  We finished the evening with some delicious s’mores!

Adat Ha-Shoafim‘s first medurah was filled with excitement and fun as madrichim led games and continued with shira (singing) and guitar playing!  Here’s a photo:

Tikvah’s medurah was full of ruach, fun, and a LOT of smores!

Magshimim had a fun medurah — chanichim loved singing together and learning classic Tzad Bet Shabbat songs while feasting on s’mores and wonderful moonlight vibes!

Bogrim had an awesome time learning their edah song and are excited to share with the rest of the machane!

In Machon, we learned our edah song and sang it with passion. Additionally, we ended our medurah with “one day” which was a beautiful moment.  (Take a look at a fun photo from our medurah, at the top of this blog post!)

Nivonim had an incredible first medurah! Between singing and s’mores, the chanichim were also presented their coveted Nivonim sweatshirts. The surprise was that inside of each sweatshirt was that person’s MiNi placement!  (That’s the edah they’ll be CITing for!)
