Ramah M’Rachok!

Camp Ramah New England and Ramah DC Day Camp are excited to announce the launch of Ramah M’Rachok (Remote Ramah) – our new programmatic initiative to bring the ruach of Ramah into the homes of our extended Ramah kehillah (community). We have lots of great programming lined up for the coming week, and we are only getting started!

Friday, April 3rd @ 3:00 – 3:30pm – Brownie Baking before Shabbat with Pamela and EmmaClick here

  • Get in the spirit of our Shabbat Brownie tradition at camp by baking brownies at home. 
  • We will be following the recipe found here!
  • You will need 1 and ½ cups flour, 2 cups sugar, 4 eggs, ¾ cups oil, ¾ cup cocoa powder, 2 and ½ teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Saturday, April 4th @ 8:25 – 8:50 PM EDT – Campwide Havdallah with Oren Kaunfer

  • Oren Kaunfer, our veteran songleader, was involved in writing our special Havdalah tune!

Monday, April 6th @ 4:30pm – 5:00 PM EDT – Shoafim Edah Reunion

  • Shoafim 2019 chanichim (campers) are invited to a Shoafim Reunion call with past Rosh Edah Adina Schwartz.

Monday, April 6th @ 5:00 – 5:30 PM EDT  – Keshet Call III with Adira BlumenthalEmail Emma to RSVP

  • Join Keshet for a virtual Bechirot club meeting. Keshet is a space for people who identify with the LGBTQ+ community and allies. The call will be led by Adira Blumenthal, a long-time Ramahnik and vereran madrichah.

Monday, April 6th @ 9:30pm – 10:00 PM EDT – Camp Style Harga’ah (Bedtime ritual) 

  • Join the year round program team for a late night chat and harga’ah featuring favorite tunes sung (via recording) by David Offit.

Tuesday, April 7th @ 12:00 – 12:30 PM EDT –  Pesach Jeopardy with Elisheva (Grades K-5)

  • Join Elisheva Layman, Day Camp Tikvah Director, for a fun Pesach and Camp themed Jeopardy game!

Tuesday, April 7th @ 5:00 – 5:30 PM EDT – Pesach Family Feud with Ianne (Grades 3-6)

  • Join Rosh Edah Ianne Sherry to prepare for the Pesach Seder through a family feud game! 

Wednesday, April 8th @ 2:00 – 2:30 PM EDT – Virtual Afikomen Hunt (Grades 2-7)

  • Join us for a virtual Afikomen hunt through various scenes and settings.

Saturday, April 11th @ 8:25 – 8:50 PM EDT – Campwide Havdalah

  • Our camp community will gather to begin the new week with a traditional camp style Havdalah.

Monday, April 13th @ 7:00 – 8:00 PM EDT – Debating Star Wars – Facebook Live

  • Join Jedi Masters Aryeh Kalender, Andy Weissfeld, and Josh Edelglass as they discuss and debate various topics pertaining to Star Wars, such as: In what order should you watch the Star Wars films?  Do the prequels have value? Was The Rise of Skywalker any good? Participants will be able to ask live questions via Facebook Live.

Tuesday, April 14th @ 6:30 – 6:45 PM EDT – Pre-Candle Lighting Storytime with Jill

  • Join Day Camp Director, Rabbi Jill Levy, for a story and gathering before Chag (holiday) begins again.

Friday, April 17th @ 12:00 – 12:30 PM EDT – Lunch with Linor and Sharon

  • Day Campers are invited to bring their lunch and eat with some familiar faces while playing games and chatting!

Friday, April 17th @ 5:00 – 5:30 PM EDT – Singing and Kabbalat Shabbat

  • Join veteran madrichot and Rashei Edot Sarah Binney, Ianne Sherry, Hannah Weisman, Sarah Monderer, Adina Schwartz, and Ariella Liebman for some pre-Shabbat singing and camp style Kabbalat Shabbat

As we take steps to make our programmatic offerings virtual, we ask that you help us make the experience as user-friendly as possible. Through the Zoom webinar application, we will mute participants in order to reduce feedback and background noise, and provide the highest level experience. Please use the chat or hand raise function if you want to chime in or have a question.

Additionally, we do take pictures and record this programming. If you would not like your image used by CRNE, please do not turn on your video camera.
