Something New, Something Old – in Palmer!

Our Camp Ramah New England facility in Palmer, Massachusetts is constantly
evolving, and improving! The new Biytan (pavilion), between the Chadar Ochel
(Dining Hall) and Bet Am Gadol, was just completed. With 2,400 square feet of
space, our Biytan is a gorgeous new location for programs, staff training, and
special events. Thank you to Kimby and Lawrence Berger, who funded this fantastic
new facility!

We also want to share the bittersweet news about our old Chadar Ochel, which
recently was torn down. For decades, this building was a joyous place for shira
(song), rikud (dance), and wonderful Shabbat meals together. This building, which
was built close to a century ago, had reached the end of its useful life and was too
small for our camp community. Our new Chadar Ochel, a much larger and modern
facility, opened in 2017. We recognize that this is a poignant milestone for the
many Ramahniks who have such fond memories of our old building. A large open
space remains; we haven’t determined what will happen with this site.
