Tikvah Block Party: What a Great Day in Palmer!

Yesterday, the weather was glorious – a perfect day for the Tikvah Block Party! Over several hours in the afternoon, the entire camp came to the Tikvah Village to participate in all manner of fun activities: delicious snacks, cookie decorating, a raffle, pennant and banner decorating, face-painting, a photo booth, a rikud (dance) booth, karaoke, carnival games (Cornhole, Connect Four, croquet, horse shoes and more), and an art show (with cheese, of course)!

The arrival of Roo – our trusty Palmer mascot – sent excitement through the crowd. The Tikvah participants were lucky enough to get a group photo with Roo.

Participants in the Tikvah Program worked in many of the booths, and got to try all the activities too. Nivonim and Machon friends, along with tzevet (staff) members from other departments, came to lend a hand.

Some highlights from several Tikvah participants:

  • Ryan R. looked forward to getting her face painted (maybe an image of a dog, or Elmo?), and did a great job at karaoke.
  • Sam G. said the party was fun because of all the food and the dancing.
  • Helena S. said it was “fun to see all the kids happy and everyone getting good food.” She was very eager to find out who was wearing the Roo costume (not sure she ever found out!).

What a great day in Palmer – todah rabbah to the Tikvah participants and tzevet, and everyone else who made the Tikvah Block Party such a great community event!
