End of Machzor Rishon Shira & Rikud
Today before aruchat erev (dinner) the entire machane (camp) gathered in Machaneh Gimel, outside the Best Am Gadol, for “No Smoking”, shira and rikud!
“No Smoking: is a long-standing Ramah tradition… about which there is much debate as to the exact origin of the “No Smoking” name and song, which dates back many, many decades. But the idea is we gather together to celebrate the end of a successful machzor (session), and our Rashei Edot lead the kids in songs and cheers and jokes. Then we all joined together for some shira and rikud!
