What We’re Excited For in Machzor Sheinei…

It’s been an incredible first week of kayitz ’25 machzor sheinei (second session), and there’s so much more that’s ahead!
This morning, we asked the hanhallah (senior team) what they and their edot are most excited for in the coming days/weeks. Here’s what they said:
Rosh Kochavim Emma shares: Kochavimers are gearing up for a machzor (Session) of fun! From bishul boker (a morning cookout), to dressing up their madrichim (counselors), to ‘sneakouts’ and more – our chanichim (campers) are having an incredible time!”
Rosh Ilanot Ayden shares: This session, Ilanot is doing something called “Ilan of the day” to recognize kind, thoughtful, and generous actions. Throughout the day, campers can write a shout-out to a friend or counselor on a paper Ilan (or tree). Every morning in tefillot, we read one of these “Ilanot” out loud and hang it up around the room where we have tefillot. I’m excited to read about all of these kind actions!
Rosh Solelim Sophia shares: Adat ha-Solelim is looking forward to visiting Six Flags on the Tzad Aleph trip next week, going on the water toys with friends, and playing “The Price is Palmer”.
Rosh Shoafim Yoav shares: The tzevet (staff) and I are very excited for our upcoming Yom Meyuchad (special theme day), “Shoa-Shave”, where everyone will get a fake beard. Our vaad (the programming committee of counselors) is working hard to make it the best day ever, in which every camper can express their individual style!
Rosh Amitzim Kaylee shares: Tikvah is excited to host our annual Tikvah Block Party and be able to bring camp together in an awesome way!
Rosh Magshimim Jonah shares: Magshimim can’t wait for our first Kishroniyah experience – we’re excited to welcome experts to lead intensive workshops about things chanichim are passionate about and interested in!
Rosh Bogrim Kayla shares: Adat ha-Bogrim is so excited for their production of The Wizard of Oz that’s in less than a week! We are all set to bring the whole machane (camp) to join us on our journey to Oz.
Rosh Machon Tova shares: Our edah is so excited for our machazemer (play/musical) Aladdin. I am excited for the dances that the chanichim have been working so hard on. Our joint machazemer with adat ha-Amitzim is a great tradition.
Rosh Nivonim Smond shares: This machzor, Nivonim is so excited for our machazemer, an original production of Despicable Me! We are also excited to continue our MiNi-ing (CIT) experience with Kochavim through Amitzim! We can’t wait for our MiNi chanichim to see the Nivonim chanichim in the play, too!
This is just a small taste of what’s ahead!!
