Yom Yisrael- Israel Day Outdoor Cooking

Yom Yisrael plus outdoor cooking equals simply delicious! The menu today was Moroccan carrot salad, chopped beet salad, chummus and fresh pitot. The outdoor cooking area had four different stations and a different tzrif (bunk) was at each station making a different dish. The goal was that at the end of the peulah (activity) each of the four groups would bring their dish to the table and the chanichim would sit down together to a delicious Israeli feast. The idea was to teach the chanichim that every person in Israel brings something different to the table, but when we sit together and we share what we have it can be delicious and the possibilities are endless. B’teavon!
